Northbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike in Gloucester County are back open after a fiery crash shut down the highway Tuesday morning.

A tractor-trailer and a car caught fire in the crash, which happened shortly after 4 a.m. south of Exit 2 for U.S. Route 322 in Woolwich Township, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation.

All northbound lanes in the area were closed for about eight hours while crews responded to the accident scene.

All lanes had reopened by early afternoon, New Jersey State Police said.

Several other vehicles were also involved in the accident, though the circumstances of the crash remained under investigation Tuesday afternoon.

Minor injuries were reported in the crash, police said.
