Tractor-trailer accident causes delays on eastbound Interstate 78

Route 78 logoAn accident involving a tractor-trailer reported shortly before 5 a.m. continues to cause significant delays on eastbound Interstate 78 this morning. According to the DOT, the tractor-trailer overturned near exit 12 (Route 635 / Perryville Road) in Union Township, closing the eastbound side of the expressway for about an hour.

As of 6:45 a.m., the right and center lanes were reopened but there are delays of up to 45 minutes being reported. There are also delays on Route 173 approaching the accident scene.
