A state Department of Transportation worker was hit by a car Wednesday morning, authorities said.

A state Department of Transportation worker was seriously injured in a car accident on Route 80 east Wednesday morning, state police said.
A car hit the worker at approximately 10:37 a.m. near mile-marker 62 in Saddle Brook, said Sgt. Jeff Flynn. The driver of the car was also injured, but not seriously. Both were taken to Hackensack University Medical Center.
The right lane, the one next to it, and the shoulder are closed, Flynn said.
Drivers should expect delays.
