Police ID N.J. man killed in dump truck crash

PEMBERTON TOWNSHIP — A 52-year-old Manahawkin man died after his vehicle crashed into a dump truck on Route 70 early Thursday morning.

Police said David J. Turi was driving a 2011 Ford E250 utility van on Lakehurst Road in the township at about 6:45 a.m. when he attempted to turn onto Route 70’s eastbound lanes and crossed into the path of a dump truck also headed east.

The two vehicles collided, and Turi, who was not wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
