CARNEY’S POINT Twp., N.J. (CBS) — Officials say an accident occurred on I-295 in New Jersey on Wednesday evening, causing delays.
The incident occurred on I-295 southbound, near exit 2 for New Jersey Turnpike/NJ 140.
State Troopers responded to a report of a tractor trailer accident around 6:15 p.m. Officials say the accident involved the tractor trailer and a pick-up truck.
Police say the tractor trailer collided with the truck and wound up on top of it. Authorities are on the scene working to remove the tractor trailer from on top of the truck. Officials announced that the man driving the truck was pronounced dead at the scene.
All lanes were closed following the ordeal, causing a 10-15 minute delay for people traveling in the area. As crews worked to remove the tractor trailer, one lane was getting by.
