Newark New Jersey School Bus Crash

Newark, NJ – A school bus carrying six Newark charter school students was involved in an accident on Wednesday morning that resulted in hospital visits for three of the passengers.

According to Newark Public School administrators, preliminary reports suggest that the incident took place around 7:55 a.m. on Orange Street when a “vehicle hit the rear bumper of the bus.”

After police and emergency responders arrived on the scene of the crash, three of the six students were transported to University Hospital for precautionary examination, which is “standard practice for an incident of this nature,” a school district spokeswoman told Patch.

The three other students were picked up at the scene by their parents, the spokeswoman added.
