An unknown number of vehicles, including a dump truck, tractor trailer and UPS truck, were involved in an accident while traveling on I-287 north, temporarily shutting down the roadway and causing delays of up to an hour, according to state police.

New Jersey State Police received a call at 5:39 a.m. notifying them that a dump truck had overturned and spilled its load of stones onto the roadway, according to Trooper Lawrence Peele. The accident occurred at mile marker 58.2, placing it in Oakland.

Peele said was unsure how many vehicles were involved in the crash or how it occurred. A portion of the roadway was closed but the right lane was reopened around 7:10 a.m. No injuries have been disclosed as of this time.
