I-287 Reopens After Tractor-Trailer Accident

Submitted by New Jersey Truck Crash Lawyer, Jeffrey Hark

Interstate 287 has reopened in Mahwah after an overturned tractor-trailer shut down lanes and created a miles-long backup during the evening rush.

Firefighters and emergency responders had to extract the driver of the tractor-trailer near mile marker 67, just south of the New York border.

All southbound lanes were closed during the rescue, backing up traffic for at least three miles. The highway has since reopened.

The Record newspaper was reporting a trauma surgeon from St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Paterson was called to the scene. State Police report one serious injury.
