PENNSVILLE TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say a southern New Jersey high school football player was seriously injured in a hit-and run accident.
Pennsville Township police say 17-year-old Kyle Pszenny had been at his girlfriend’s house and was headed home on his skateboard when he was struck by a car around 2 p.m. Sunday. They say he suffered “serious” injuries to his head, neck, leg and ear and had undergone surgery.
Pszenny was listed in critical condition Sunday afternoon. He plays at Pennsville Memorial High School.
Authorities say Pszenny was found after a resident who had heard a “thud” called 911.
The driver of the car that hit the teen could face several charges, including leaving scene of accident, aggravated assault and failure to report an accident.
