Submitted by New Jersey Motor Vehicle Accident Attorney, Jeffrey Hark

State Police are investigating a Monday afternoon accident on the Garden State Parkway southbound, said spokesman Sgt. Jeffrey Flynn.

At 1:59 p.m., State Police responded to the accident at mile marker 134 involving a Chevrolet Express van and a Toyota Camry. According to Flynn, the van overturned and the driver, a male, had to be extricated.

The van’s driver was alert and conscious but suffered a serious leg injury, Flynn said. He was flown to University Hospital in Newark. The occupants of the car had no reported injuries, he said.
