The former fire chief for Barrington in Camden County has been arrested on charge he sexually assaulted a child.

Richard Rettinger, 42, is accused of molesting the child in his Barrington home, according to a statement from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office. He faces a charge of second-degree sexual assault, plus multiple counts of criminal sexual contact and endangering the welfare of a child, the prosecutor’s office said.
He was arrested near his home Thursday and is currently held in the Camden County jail, prosecutors said. Prosecutors plan to ask a judge to order him held pending trial.
