Bus fire closes northbound New Jersey Turnpike

Submitted by New Jersey Bus Crash Attorney, Jeffrey Hark

New Jersey State Police closed the northbound lanes of the Turnpike in Oldmans Township, Salem County, around 6 p.m. Sunday after a bus caught on fire and pulled to the side of the road.

The driver and around 50 passengers exited the bus safely.

“There were no injuries,” said Sgt. Brian Weiner of the New Jersey State Police.

Firefighters called additional material to the scene to keep the flames from spreading. The highway remained closed to vacationers heading home and other traffic at 6:45 p.m.
