IRVINGTON — A seven-vehicle collision on the Garden State Parkway in Essex County tied up traffic in the area Friday afternoon, authorities said.
The collision took place in the southbound lanes at mile post 143.4 in Irvington at around 11:55 a.m., according to State Police.
Four people suffered injuries not considered life-threatening, Trooper Alejandro Goez said.
The three right lanes were closed for nearly two hours before reopening at about 1:50 p.m.
Delays stretched back to exit 147 in East Orange, but are beginning to ease as of 2:05 p.m.
The crash remains under investigation. State Police said no additional details were yet available.
