UPPER FREEHOLD – A Millstone man was killed after crashing a pickup truck into a tree Friday night, police said.

The crash happened shortly before midnight on Emley’s Hill Road near Long Acre Drive, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Trooper Alejandro Goez said that Robert Stinson, 57, of the Clarksburg section of Millstone died from injuries he sustained in the crash.

Stinson was driving a Ford F-250 eastbound on Emley’s Hill Road, “Lost control and ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree,” Goez said.

Stinson, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the truck, Goez said. His passenger, who was buckled in, suffered minor injuries.

Medics from Allentown First Aid and firefighters from the Hope Fire Company responded, Goez said. The crash is still under investigation.
