An East Rutherford school bus severely injured a 48-year-old pedestrian. (10/17/16)
EAST RUTHERFORD – An East Rutherford school bus struck and severely injured a 48-year-old pedestrian Monday afternoon near the intersection of Paterson Avenue and Everett Place.
East Rutherford police say first responders arriving at the scene found the man pinned underneath the bus. He had severe injuries to his leg and head, but the injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, according to officials.
The pedestrian and the 39-year-old bus driver were taken to Hackensack University Hospital. The bus driver was treated for shock.
Officials say there were 10 students on the school bus at the time of the accident. They were not injured.
