HAMILTON – A man and woman from Atlantic County died in a fiery crash on the Atlantic City Expressway Friday, according to New Jersey State Police.
Sean McBride, 35, of Egg Harbor Township, and a passenger, Gabrielle Lynnes, 31, of Marmora were in a 2003 Jeep Liberty that struck a disabled BMW on the westbound highway’s shoulder around 1:30 p.m., police said.
McBride’s vehicle also struck Scott Lerario, 38, of Linwood, who was checking a flat on the disabled car when the crash occurred.
McBride and Lynnes, whose vehicle caught fire, were pronounced dead at an area hospital. Lerario was hospitalized in stable condition.
Police said McBride lost control of his vehicle while driving in snowy conditions at milepost 20.4 in Hamilton. The accident remains under investigation.
